Meet our Ministry Leadership Team

Bud Makus, Senior Pastor

There really is a better life! You don't have to settle for a life of defeat and failure. I teach the "better life." For 35 years I have been teaching and living in relationship with Christ. Thankfully, in my youth, a pastor taught me the better life. As a father of three grown children, and husband for 32 years to a wonderful little lady (only 4'8" tall), I have learned the highs and lows of marriage and family. I have been the pastor of this fantastic church for the past 26 years. I hope you will allow me the privilege and opportunity to show you the better life. Your best days are in front of you. God says, "I know the plans I have for you...to give you a future and a hope." I would enjoy meeting you this Sunday. We can begin a meaningful relationship around the better life.

Pastor Bud

P.S. - Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Kim Govekar, Church Administrator

My family and I have been attending Alliance Bible Church since September 2000. We enjoy the close knit family feel of the congregation here at ABC. I currently serve as the Church Administrator, providing support to the senior pastor, as well as answering questions & providing current information about our church and its ministries to our community. In addition to my role as Church Administrator, I serve the church as a vocalist in both our morning worship team, as well as our Cross Fire worship band. I welcome you to contact me here at the church with requests for information about our church. God bless!

Chris Govekar, Cross Fire & Youth Ministries

I'm Chris Govekar and I've been involved with Youth Ministry in one way or another since I was 15. In Proverbs 22 we're asked to train our children in the way they should go so that when they're old they won't wander from it, and that's what I try to do on Sunday mornings. In addition to solid Bible based teaching, we work on relationships, learning by doing what it means to have a real, solid, adult relationship with elders, peers and younger folks. Besides which, we just have a lot of fun! On Sunday nights, I'm priveleged to work as the Bible teacher for our upbeat, youth-oriented CrossFire Service. I hope you'll give us a try some Sunday night and allow us to show you a little of what we all found when we found Jesus - real love and real community. (And some really cool loud music!) ;-)

Dave & Sarah Rossing, Youth Activities Ministry & Cross Fire Worship Leader

We have been blessed to be a part of the youth ministry at Alliance since 2005. Our gifts are in the area of administration and service, so we love planning activities for the youth. The young people of today's generation are not only passionate, but very capable of doing ministry, and often times are better than adults. They have a genuine love, and the energy to go along with it. With this in mind, we have the mindset that our youth are the Church of today, and our youth are involved in everything in the church, from service and outreach to fun event planning and even teaching, we do everything we can to help our youth find their strengths and be the hands and feet of Jesus while having a blast doing so.

Regarding his role as Cross Fire Worship Leader, Dave says:

Our band has been affectionately called "Can You Hear Me Now?" or "WHAT??". Our love is loud, and we enjoy picking up electric guitar tunes and rocking it out. A lot of our songs might be modern day versions of the hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers". You might recognize a lot of our songs from Christian radio. (Switchfoot, Lifehouse, Kutless etc.) We strive to use every ounce of creativity God has given us, and we play a lot of styles and types of songs. Some speak to Christian living, while others are a call to worship, but whatever we sing and play, we want to do it with passion and encourage you to live a victoriously unashamed Christian life.
